If your child loses their tooth by knocking it out (and it wasn’t due to go to the tooth fairy) you need to know:
WHAT HAS MY CHILD KNOCKED OUT?
Is it a first or second tooth. This means is this a baby or an adult tooth?
First teeth (baby teeth) do not need to be pushed back in as hopefully a second (adult) tooth will be growing from under it. They need a routine appointment with the dentist.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO AND HOW QUICKLY?
If it is a second (adult) tooth you need to bring them to the ED or to see the emergency dentist. The tooth ideally needs to be pushed back in within 1 hour of losing it.
DO NOT keep it soaking in water alone
